Your skin needs moisture and lots of it to maintain itself, if you start consuming the recommended eight glasses of water a day you should be you'll see a vast improvement in your skin tone, firmness and sudden lack of blemishes.

• Stress is one of the main reasons why many people develop skin problems. Get lots of rest, on occasion pamper yourself, go to the movies, of have a soak in the tub, or even better yet, plan a nice romantic weekend getaway with the significant other, hire a baby sitter to look after the kids while you are gone. Believe me a getaway weekend can work wonders for the body, mind and spirit.

Cleansing And Detoxifying For Beauty And Health

Years ago, detoxification meant recovering from a weekend of too much partying. Modern times reflects a whole different meaning. What is it, what does it entail and why do it?

My personal experience with detoxification began in my early thirties being guided to a health spa for fast weight loss. It was quite and experience because of the stages my body went through, but when I saw what came out of it; namely, how good I looked, how much weight I lost, cellulite gone, eyes, skin clear, small lines gone, shining hair - more important, how good I felt physically, more energy, motivation and confidence than ever, I became hooked. I have been renewing this process for the last 30 years and results have been cumulative.

What exactly is it? Detoxification is the process of clearing and neutralizing toxins from the body through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymphs and skin. In fact, this is a normal bodily function. But, in our world today, body systems and organs that were once capable of cleaning out unwanted substances cannot keep up with toxic overload which comes from diet, drug use, pesticides and environmental hormones. Internally, fats like cholesterol, refined sugars, salt, free radicals and other irritating molecules act as toxins as well - similar to a city garbage dump on a hot summer day. The word "toxic" derives from the Greek word "poison" which needs to be removed.

Furthermore, toxicity is a dangerous process leading to serious immune diseases as cancer. Dr. Leonard Smith of Florida notes "when cells are stressed long enough, the nucleus, cytoplasm or membranes may malfunction in reaction to toxicity. If cell reproduces with other cells that are malfunctioning in similar ways, small growths may form. This creates inflammation which leads to many diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular and immune issues.

Cleansing and Detoxification is nothing new. The great beauties like Cleopatra and Royalty through the ages have used this process as part of health and beauty rituals over 20,000 years. Many cultures such as Ayurvedics, Native Americans and European spas from early Christian belief through Renaissance, Medieval times continue this practice today, continually developing new therapies for enhancing health and beauty.

Detoxification addresses many health issues such as allergies, asthma, chronic diseases, skin problems, elimination problems, obesity, migraines, increases energy, decreases food cravings and helps our bodies become more efficient.

What happens when you decide to do a Detox and Cleanse? First, there are different types of Detoxifications such as 3 day juice, 7 day water fast. I recommend first-timers start with the 3 day juice fast wherein 2 days are preparatory, 2 days actual fast, 2 days recovery. Each phase is EXTREMELY important.

First phase is ELIMINATION - cleaning out mucous and toxins from intestinal tract and major organs. Some people use colonic irrigation to aid removal, but this is not really necessary. I first read about this when movie stars such as Mae West stated this was her secret for staying young and I must say, she did look amazing at 70 and 80. This is done by a professional.

Second phase is NATURAL HEALING - when the liver releases stored toxins into the bloodstream. You may encounter unpleasant symptoms at this stage, but this is good.

Last phase is DEEP TISSUE CLEANSING - blood and circular debris is flushed out of organs. You will experience clear mind, feel relaxed, centered and energetic. This is the "high."

Certain Victory is found through strength, courage, and indomitable spirit. When you find a philosophy that spurs you to success, make sure to make it a part of your lingo. Say it to yourself and others. First, you’ve got to say it in order to internalize it. You’ve got to internalize it before you truly believe it, and you’ve got to believe it without a shadow’s doubt before you’ll become it. Remember that you’ve got those positive mentors and friends to empower you by showing you that the philosophy works even in the toughest situations.
You may be asking, “Where can I find all of these things? Where should I go to find good role models?” Start by looking at your strengths. There’s a club for every activity and condition. The internet is a valuable resource for finding people and social networks involving your interests. Take a look in your community to see if there are sports teams or places where you can learn a specific skill. Consider going out with a group of coworkers the next time they go out for lunch. No matter how you do it, it’ll take due diligence to make sure that you’re always in attendance. You won’t get much out of the deal of you sit on the side lines. Over time, you may find that your negative feelings are replaced with a more positive self image. AS you develop your strengths and self image, you will find yourself sharing them with other people, and others will certainly find a confidence in you that make you a natural beauty.
